The weather couldn’t have been better for the third annual Run for Justice 5K held this year at the McIntyre Ski Area in Manchester. More than 200 runners and walkers attended the race which also served as the final leg of Millennium Running’s Happy Hour Hustle series.
Tom Raffio, CEO of Premier Sponsor Northeast Delta Dental, delivered opening remarks. “How many people believe that everyone has a right to a perfect smile?” he asked the assembled runners. After the people in the crowd raised their hands, Raffio added, “Now, how many of you believe everyone has a right to an attorney? That’s what we’re trying to change here. People should have someone in their corner for when they are facing eviction, or trying to escape from a abusive relationship.”
We’d like to thank Northeast Delta Dental, Brady Sullivan Properties, Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, Dartmouth Health, The Elliot, Gallagher Callahan & Gartrell, Merrimack County Savings Bank, NH Healthy Families, the Paralegal Association of New Hampshire, Shaheen and Gordon, and Sulloway and Hollis for their generous sponsorship.
Thank you also to the Campaign for Legal Services planning committee and Millennium Running staff who helped make this year’s 5K run so smoothly! But most of all, we’d like to thank each and every participant who, regardless of how fast they ran, helped us get closer to our goal of closing the access to justice gap.
