Vicky, a single mom of young children, has received help from NH Legal Assistance in the past. Recently, Vicky called her legal aid advocate to say the utility company had disconnected the heat in her home. To reconnect it, the company said she would need a valid driver’s license. Because of COVID-19 concerns, the state Department of Motor Vehicles is not taking walk-ins, and the next available appointment is in December. Meanwhile, overnight temps were forecast to dip into the 20s.
