A lot can happen in 36 hours.
A judge can halt an illegal eviction.
A domestic violence victim can secure an emergency restraining order.
And we can come together to raise $12,000 to support legal services in New Hampshire.
The Campaign’s new website at www.nh-cls.org is ready, and on Oct. 1 and 2, will host a live online fundraising blitz to support the work of New Hampshire Legal Assistance and the Legal Advice and Referral Center.
Your donation to the Campaign in those 36-hours will show low-income and elderly New Hampshire residents that when they go into the frightening and unfamiliar world of the legal system, they are not alone. Last year, NHLA and LARC helped nearly 14,000 people by preserving their income, protecting victims of domestic violence, preventing homelessness, helping people access health care and education, and providing empowerment and education so people can advocate for themselves more effectively.
Here’s three things you can do this weekend to get ready:
- Watch this short video featuring local community leaders sharing why they support legal aid programs through the Campaign for Legal Services.
- Visit the event page to hear from real New Hampshire people who have benefited from legal services.
- Share the stories that move you, and next Thursday, come back and join us in moving together toward our goal.
